The produce grows on a 25,000 square foot garden. As a way to give back to the community, they have donated over 800 pounds of vegetables that have been sent home with students in need and to local food pantries. This year they had a bumper crop of eggplants and tomatoes, but also grow kale, green beans, broccoli, and cabbage.
The Agriscience Program, led by Troy Badeaux, teaches students about agriculture through "learning by doing." They are encouraged to have a work-based learning experience and be enrolled in agricultural education courses.
Dosatron provided the school with a D14MZ2 - 14 GPM fertilizer injector for their greenhouse to fertilize and grow the seedling for the Food Security Garden.
